Geothermal resources are being exploited and utilized increasingly because of its cleanness and low-cost. Shuguang Block of Liaohe Oil Field which belongs to the Bohai region is one of the most promising distribution area of geothermal field in east of China. This area is in the middle of western slope in Liaohe depression, and its distribution was controlled by the fracture structure and ancient burial hill. It is a system of conductive and mid-low temperature geothermal. Geothermal gradient and heat flow of the Liaohe Depression are higher than that of the surrounding areas. So many areas are ready to form geothermal field. The areas with abnormal temperature often occur in the arc turning of the trunk fault or in the junction of the trunk fault and the NE secondary fault, as well as burial hill distribution area. Heat storage stratum generally lies at the depth of 1000 to 2500 meter, where the average geothermal gradient is 3.4℃/100 m, the temperature of ground water is about 50-150℃, generally above 70℃, the individual well yield is 25-50 t/h. In general, this area situates at the step-fault zone of the west slope, with high ground temperature gradient and shallow heat storage stratum. It has the characteristic of high temperature, good heat storage condition, thick heat storage stratum, and convenient to be exploited. It shows that the Shuguang petroleum production plant area is one of the most important areas of heat storage resource in liaohe basin.The 3D geothermal and geological conceptual model and numeric model have been built based on the geological data, hydrogeologic data and temperature data of oilfield in the study area. Then thermal reserve is calculated by FdmGrid, and the total geothermal reserve is 23500.23×1011KJ, which can not only provide adequate thermal water for local residents, but also for recharge water and other thermal recovery equipments. According to"Criteria of geological survey on Geothermal Resources",it is a mid-low temperature geothermal field in the study area. While from the standards of effective utilization of geothermal resources and hot water resources,it is a large-and-medium sized geothermal field.
