It is the most important period in the five to ten years in the future for Western Development of China. The development of the social economy deeply depended on the integrated transportation system. Inner Mongolia lies in the north of China ("Three North"), which has an important strategic status in the Western Development of China. The transportation of Inner Mongolia has great impact on the development of social economy of Western of China. To enhance the transportation efficiency of integrated transportation network and save the social resource, the paper studied the integrated passenger transportation hub planning in the comprehensive transportation network of Inner Mongolia.The paper recited the state of the art on planning of the transportation hub, and analyzed the "four stage method" and "nod importance method" which have been widely used in the planning of the hub, and pointed out the flaw of the method. The paper has consummated the technical route of the hub planning method based on communication location methodology. According to the demand of the technical route, the paper analyzed the communication location lines of the Inner Mongolia from the aspect of non-economic factors such as national unity and geopolitical and economic factors as circle city group, economic liberalization, harbor economic hinterland, geo-economic and tour. It created the location line network which can be used as the evidence of the integrated transportation planning, and pointed out five major traffic lines of Inner Mongolia. This traffic network can reinforce the current traffic network and meet the demand of the further development of the municipality.After confirming the function of the five major traffic lines in the comprehensive network, considering the situation of the economic population and the development of the transportation of the node in the network, the paper classifies the nodes into three categories. The paper took Hohhot for an example. It analyzed the characteristics of the passenger flow and the transportation method qualitatively. Based on the passenger volume prediction, the paper showed the basic blue print of hub planning. At last, it gave the advice to the planning of the hub at micro-level and meso-level of Hohhot...
