With the massive construction of subways in cities, the problem of vibration and the response of upper buildings caused by the running of metro trains have brought to the close attentions of people in civil engineering. In this dissertation, the theories and practical achievements of this field were summarized, ruls about dissemination and attenuation in soils of vibration are discoursed. The basic knowledge of dynamic finite element and the theory of general finite element sfot wire ANSYS/LS-DYNA are introduced.With elastic constitutive relationship and inputing dynamic load of metro trains, three dimension model of 'base-tunnel-building' is made to calculate by general finite element program ANSYS. The rules about dissemination and attenuation in soils of vibration and the response of upper buildings caused by the running of metro trains of many conditions are discussed , such as different strata,different depth of tunnel,different speed of metro trains,different distance of upper buiding to the center of tunnel,different size of building and so on.1) In soft soil, the attenration of vibration is slow, displacement and acceleration is high; in hard soil, the attenration of vibration is quickly and vibration attenrate to very low level in 20 meters to the center of the tunnel. 2) With the increase of distance to the center of the tunnel, the vibration of buildings attenrate gradually, in the same distance, the intensity of x-vibration increase with the heighth increase and the y-vibration is in the same level. 3) In certain distance to the center of the tunnel, the intensity of vibration is very high, but the attenration of vibration is quickly also in high train speed. In the end, the author put forward reference distance in witch the vibration of metro trains has influence over the upper buildings. The research work can give some references to underpass system and upper buildings' design to reduced vibration and hazard of metro train.
