The box girder is a kind of sectional form adopted extensively in the bridge engineering at present,it is a structure that receives fine strength performance,but the torsion analysis of thin-wailed structure is comparatively complicated,this paper introduced the box girder torsion theory and the mechanical character of curved beams,it also generalized the methods of analysing torsion character in curved beams which can also be used in cable-stayed bridge with single tower and single cable plane.Turn as to the torsion analysis of complicated beam, it need the general finite element program to do that. This paper adopt finite element program ANSYS to emulate the torsion effect on Shizhou bridge at different load operation, through the research, some conclusions were gained below: under dead and live loads, the normal stress of section in box girder of cable-stayed bridge with single tower is comparatively complex and not uniform, and it is very differently with the calculation result of the common beam theories; The transverse acting location of external load has obvious influence on the torsion effect in box girder of cable-stayed bridge with single tower and single cable plane,the effect of torsion is very small and can be neglect at the other different load operations; During the construction,the control of distortion is very important and should be paid most attention to it;The cross slab can greatly reduce the distortion stress at the eccentric load operation, but just in certain distance the effect of cross slab is obvious.This paper's conclusion would be help to the design and construction of the cable-stayed bridge with single tower and single cable plane.
