What the thesis studies is about a helm dynamic loading simulation system. It is a typical electro-hydraulic servo system. Its function is to simulate different kinds of loads exerting on the helm of naval vessel under laboratory conditions. The loads mostly include inertia load and hydraulic load. The loading system is used to detect and check if the real helm can meet the requirement of dynamic performances, control precision, system reliability. Based on the technique guide lines of the helm dynamic loading simulation system, the design of the whole system is fulfilled, including loading equipments,hydraulic pressure control system and computer control system and so on.The distributed control mode that enhances reliability of the system and fulfils the need to control the system in real time is used in the design of the control system. The transfer function model of the helm system is built by the characteristic of the helm system, and the simulation model is also built with AMESim. It can improve the controlling effect of the system by forecasting the helm angle velocity and acceleration. Based on analyzing and comparing with various forecasting methods including BP nerve network and ARMA model and numerical value forecast, the forecasting effect of the methods are simulated by the simulation model of the helm system built. The Newton thrice multinomial is the best method through comparing with the results of the simulation.Based on characteristics of the hydraulic dynamics working on the helm, the calculation model of the hydraulic load working on the helm engine is built, and the turning inertia of the helm is estimated also, so the condition for the loading simulation system to simulating hydraulic load and inertia is provided.The monitoring and controlling system software has been programmed in VC++ 6.0 language. It has the perfect function and amity interface between human and machine, and it is used safely and reliably. The experiment results proved that the helm loading system is perfect in working.
