With the advances in electric system for naval ships, it is necessary to develop high reliable protective relay. This thesis is aimed at studies on the intelligent protective relay for naval ship electric system, including the design and realization of software and hardware,with emphasis on software design of the intelligent protective relay .Firstly, the paper looks to view the development and recent progress of protective relay in electric system, provide the requirements of protective relay in electric system, and introduces the background of development, main functions and specifications .Secondly, the paper introduces gross structure of hardware and functional block diagram of the relay and describes each main modules and anti-interference measures.Thirdly, the paper introduces the overall software design by analyzing the basic requirements of software, including the Hardware Abstract Layer, system layer and application layer, with the emphasis on rebuildingμC/OS-II embedded real time operating system.Fourthly, the paper analyses algorithm of protective relay, especially discusses algorithm of division and extraction, and as a result obtains brief efficient algorithm. Finally, the paper reviews a series of tests, such as the measure, protect, communication and electromagnetic compatibility. The results of tests show that performance of the protective relay meets the design demands. Successful development of the protective relay lays the massive foundation for the application of the intelligent protective relay with microprocessor of Chinese naval ship electric system.
