In recent year, as the requests about diesel engine power are advancing rapidly, turbo engine has developed fleetly by increasing pressure ratio. And the pressure ratio is becoming higher and higher. So charge air cooler is using to decrease the temperature of compressed air which goes into the chamber. It's said, the density of air will enlarge 3% when the temperature of compressed air descends 10℃.As a result engine power increase 3%.In this paper, it is a designing method validated by experiments. When changing the height of tabulators and fins, the heating performance will change according to a kind of principle. An appropriate scheme is verified concerning not only compositive performances but also costs while meets the requests of the engine system.Some failure modes are analyzed in this paper including the route courses and correcting plans.
