Manufacture of gas turbine pressure blades is part of high-tech manufacturing field, which is commanded in deed by only a few countries with developed industries at present. This is mainly due to that a gas turbine blade has its own special features and dimensional precision, and has the requirement of aerodynamical property owned by aerodynamic-mechanism compared with other mechanical types of parts. Therefore, a turbine pressure blade generally has such characteristics as high standard for material property,complex figure, high-tech, machining and difficult process measuring etc.This project mainly aims at a series of problems about unstabilization of machining quality, low acceptance, low production efficiency and difficult measuring for the parts, which exist in the subcontract production of turbine blades in my company. Taking the turbine pressure blade of GE(American General Company) as an example, we have analyzed controlling of some important sectors and main factors based on the problems exposed during machining , through some key and difficulty machining link of this kind of turbine blade, i.e. NC machining technics and blade measuring of dovetail pressure surface and profile as breakthrough, We have improved the acceptance rate and machineing efficiency of the turbine blades through analyzing the materials ,features of this kind of blade, and also through research and improvement for controlling of the rough, selection of the cutter material, cutting parameter and setting for type of feeding, improvement of fixture, perfection and optimization for processing route, etc. Using advanced Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) measuring combined with traditional manual gauge, reliable veracity and efficiency of blade measuring are achieved. For the effect of gauge repeatability and reproducibility error (Gage R&R) used during measuring, we have analyzed and estimated the gauge error exactly by using MINITAB software, which is effective to avoid fault problems of product test result caused by gauge error.
