From tunnel excavation to tunnel operation, the existence of tunnel would affect adjacent structure behavior to some degree, which would result in the structure differential settlement and crack, and even it endanger the safety stability of structure, so how to protect the structure affected by tunnel is becoming an urgent problem. On the basis of previous research, considering the dynamic process from tunnel excavation to tunnel operation, the indicator of width of crack is adopted to evaluate the safety of structure.Through the analysis of field data originated from Metro Line 11, the comparison between green field settlement and structure settlement which are both induced by tunnel, roughly conclude the structure settlement; and combine the FEM, the parametric analysis is performed referring to the length and width of structure and obtained the settlement curve in the presence of structure. And then a method to calculate crack is adopted to assess the crack spread induced by settlement; A crack prediction paradigm is presented; Finally concerning Metro-Line 11, several pattern of ground damage and structure damage and according several protective methods is presented; The creativity of this paper consist in the simulation of long term settlement of structure induced tunnel in operation and evaluate the dynamic spread of crack, which could be explained by the notion of equivalent ground loss. Finally, the further research is presented...
