Research On The Planning Of Recreational Space In The Area Of Waterfronts

Along with the advent of the leisure ages, leisure need that attract people with appreciatebeauty the wishes,and provide new stop and rest with the stroll place, and satisfy business districtand live area of leisure activity need landscape have become the important focus. At present,recreation has become the important part of people's life. How to meet the people's needs ofleisure and beauty, how to provide new leisure areas has been one of the interest centers ofmodern people. The construction of waterfronts for recreation is more and more popular recentlybecause the recreational space in the area of waterfronts satisfies the needs of people of goodliving environment and favor to water. The construction of waterfronts has been popular almost50 years abroad. Most reason is the function exchanging that from industry to trade and recreation.In China, the construction of waterfronts is only in the first step, because of being lack ofexperience and the short period for building, many waterfronts' projects come out a serious ofproblems such as destroying nature's balance, wasting resource and too many same kinds ofconstruction. So it is very necessary to come out some theory and ways to recreat planning anddesign of waterfronts by learning from the successful and typical examples abroad and in China.Based on many typical examples abroad and the two large projects of waterfronts which theauthor has joined, utilized System Theory, such as Landscape Ecology and other theories of urbandesign and landscape planning, this thesis analyses the character of waterfronts' recreational space,and then build the theory and ways for recreation planning and design of waterfronts. This thesisis made up by the following five parts:Chapter one is the introduction. It includes the research's source, the content, the ways andthe structure of research.Chapter two is the study of recreation and recreation activity. At first, it defines the referentconcept and discusses them. The correlative concept includes recreation, recreational space, areaof waterfronts and recreational space in the area of waterfronts. Then it discusses these conceptsand analyses the situation of the construction of recreational space in the area of waterfrontsabroad, and brings out my own opinions about the construction situation of recreational space inthe area of waterfronts in China.Chapter three is the study of the recreational space recreational in the area waterfronts. Atfirst, it discusses the recreational behavior's development, classification, space structure and therelationship between its space structure and people's belongingness. Then it describes the factors,the basic character and the type of combination for recreational space in the area of waterfronts.Chapter four is the planning and design for recreational space in the area of waterfronts.According to the order from the whole to detail, it describes the ways of planning and design forrecreational space in the area of waterfronts. It is the most primary part of this thesis. It definesthe aim and principle of the planning and design firstly. From the view of space form and landscape ecology, it discusses the whole planning and design for recreational space in the area ofwaterfronts. It discusses the detail design for recreational space in the waterfronts from theapproaches of architectural design, the control of sight and the design of the recreational space. Atlast, it describes the rules of the planning and design for recreation space.Chapter five is the analysis of projects. By the analysis of the two typical projects that thelayout of Qianhai walking street in Qingdao and the rebuilding layout of Daming lake in Jinan, itshows that the above ways is feasible.In the end, the thesis describes that the planning and designing recreational space in the areaof waterfronts should be on the basis of the investigation and research of current situation, care ofthe wholeness and the landscape ecology, care of the participation of inhabitant and expressconception for human being.
