| Worm drive is one kind of the widest applied mechanical-drive which has lots of characteristic such as widely power range, highly transmission efficiency, accurate drive ratio, long operating life and safe reliability. With the rapid development of scientific-technical and industrial offer more advanced require for carrying power of worm drive, one of the most important evaluation criterions is contact fatigue resistance. With the development of computer, FEM (finite-element method) is widely used in the strength analysis of worm drive for its capability of dealing with the loaded engage contact surface and boundary condition and it also can do the exactly stress-strain analysis of the worm drive system.This thesis mainly has done these works as following:1. Based on the given theory, we get the basic geometry dimension of worm and worm-gear, and carry through primary contact intensity check.2. We use three-dimensional modeling software to get the parametric solid model and assembly. The parametric solid model can make the designer avoid unnecessary repeated job, increase work efficiency.3. We carry through dynamic contact intensity analysis in using finite element software ANSYS/LSDYNA about worm and worm-gear. Due to the symmetrical characteristic and the feature of the finite element analysis, we just get five teeth of worm-gear to establish the contact finite element model, carry through the contact finite element analysis of the worm-gear driving motion.4. Through the post-processing module we can observe the results, get the condition of the contact stress distributions. Compare the finite element analysis results and the results that using the primary formula, we can check the correctness and the precision of the finite element analysis, offer an effect checking method for engineering experience. |
