DC test is a routine test for converter transformers in HVDC system. a DC high voltage generator with a reversal polarity is the equipment to implement the DC voltage test for converter transformers in HVDC system. As the development of the HVDC systems which has built, being built and planned to be built in China, this type of DC high voltage generator has been in a very urgent demand.The paper is aimed at the study of the insulation design and test standard for new UHV converter transformer. According to a lot of literature, with the past practice of scientific research, a set for HVDC converter transformer's DC high voltage test has been designed. The following work is the main research works:At the first, focused on the HVDC converter transformer's DC high voltage test, the paper introduced the history, current situation of HVDC and the past few years development of HVDC in China. Based on it, as a conjecture, the UHV converter transformer's DC high voltage test standards has been discussed, and the suitable function of the DC high voltage generator with a reversal polarity has been determined.In the second, by use of power electronics, electrical theory and technology, the main parameters of the generator were calculated to ensure that the system can perform a great variety of different parameters of the test. Based on calculation and simulation, a circuit scheme of a DC high voltage generator with a reversal polarity has been completed and some parameters of it can be adjusted. It could be an effective technical support for the research of insulating structure and material of new converter transformer.In the third, the main circuit and the control unit of the generator has been designed. The accomplished generator is simple in circuit structure, convenient in parameters adjustment, cheap in circuit element's prices and high in performance. Moreover, the generator can automatively do test once the test's parameters properly set.Finally, the control unit of the generator has been built up and some tests have been performed on it. The test results show that the generator can meet the long time DC high voltage test and the reversal polarity DC highvoltage test for converter transformers. |
