Active magnetic bearing (AMB) is one of the typical mechatronic products and a new type of high performance bearing which suspends the rotor in a contact-free manner. Since it has many advantages, such as no mechanical contact, no friction, lower power consumption, lasting service life and without environmental pollution, it has been paid more and more attention in energy resource, aerospace, communication, mechanical industry, robot and medical equipment. Be compared with conventional AMB system, active magnetic bearing system based on E structure is a new one that have made use of magnetism's character which the magnetic line of force always tries to close along minimal route of magnetic reluctance . The active magnetic bearing system based on E structure not only support regular rotator motion of radial active magnetic bearing, but also corrects axial position automatically when axial position deviation happens in the process of rotator's motion, so as to lessen the burden of work of axial magnetic bearing and protect auxiliary bearing and to improve the stability of system.The author works on the study and development of a sort of active magnetic bearing based on E structure, including:Firstly, Four radial direction electromagnetism axle bearing radial direction liberty degree mathematic model are founded based on Axial electromagnetism axle bearing's axial Shan liberty degree mathematic model; analyse structure and operating principleSecondly, design and optimize the radial active magnetic bearing system based on E structure and axial magnetic bearing of the active magnetic bearing system.Thirdly, design and optimize the detection device , driving device and protect device of the active magnetic bearing system based on E structure .Finally, as the active magnetic bearing based on E structure prototype have been designed and trial-produced, it have realized systematic debugging of E type electromagnetism axle bearing and experiment data analysis based on PID controller. The simulation results show that the active magnetic bearing system based on E structure is feasible.
