Staggered truss frame system is a new structure type, the recent research indicates: it is characterized by economy, efficiency and practicability. The new structure system abides by the strategy of"continuing development"and will be in great market demands. Recently, staggered truss frame system is more and more widely applied abroad and scholars at home are speeding relative study to put to practice. In this paper, antiseismic behavior of staggered truss frame system is studied on the base of the review of the theoretical study and characteristic of staggered truss system, the theory of structure Seismic as well as.As the mixed truss is a truss form of common use in the staggered truss frame system, it is chosen for analytical model in this paper. At first, the method of response spectrum analysis is used to analyze the performance of staggered truss frame system in the region of 80 seismic intensity andⅡgenus field. Then, two strong ground motion records and one artificial acceleration time-history are inputted on the structure. The structure response characteristic of earthquake is displayed. At the same time, the difference of aseismic property is included by comparing the analytical result between elastic time history and elastic—plastic time history .In addition, the method of response spectrum and time history analysis are used to analyzing the effect of changing vierendeel panels'width upon the structural aseismic performance with examples of different vierendeel panels'width in this paper. Results indicated that: along with the augment of vierendeel panels'width, the structural periods, the bending moment of chord members, the transverse base shear force, the story displacement and drift ratios have the obvious tendency of increasing. Therefore, it is suggested that the vierendeel panels'width should be as far as possible small under according with the demanding of structural function.
