This paper investigated the micro-wave measuring method for the mass fraction ofthe pulverized coal in the power plant. The fundamental theory of this method wasintroduced. The optimum micro-wave measuring frequency was discussed. Theappropriate micro-wave apparatuses were selected to construct the measuring instrumentand the laboratorial platform was built based on the boiler operation conditions in thepower plant.A large amount of utility experiments were carried out. The optimum measuringmode of this method was actualized by the declining placement of the antennas. Someinfluence factors of the micro-wave measuring method including granule diameter, thecoal sort and the wind velocity were analyzed. The results revealed that the micro-wavemeasuring method has a relationship with the coal sort. It was proposed that themeasuring result was independent of granule diameter and the wind velocity. Therelationship between the mass fraction of the pulverized and the attenuation is amonotone curve. So the micro-wave measuring method can be used to measure thefraction of the pulverized coal in the duct. |
