With the development of application technology of moonlets, CMOS's star tracker with high measure precision is popular. Rapid and reliable star pattern recognition algorithm is the most important part of control system. Because the cost of space flight experiment is very high, it is impossible to acquire real-time star images in the sky in the course of debugging star tracker on the ground and simulating software algorithm. Thus in order to debug and estimate star pattern recognition algorithm, we need to simulate real-time star images from star tracker in the ground with a computer. At present, plentiful research focuses on star pattern recognition algorithm. However, the research on star image simulation and star extraction from star image is much fewer.The development situation of star image simulation is introduced in the paper and we discuss some aspects which may have effects on star image simulations, including coordinate transform from celestial sphere to image plane, the transform from brightness to gray and the converting star position from Standard Epoch to observation time. Besides single star image simulation, we also simulate movement process of continuous star images with orbit expressions.The fine pints are summarized as follows:1. The software based on the algorisms is compiled using VC++. Besides its friendly interface, multi-function and facility to operation, the software also performs with high quality of dynamics and can perfectly meet actual need.2. This article does some research on the fast displaying of star image. On the base of precise required, we improve the algorithm about converting star position from Standard Epoch to observation time. Also, an algorism of fast searching is put forward which can perform fast and effective searching of the star catalog database, which make the computer computing quickly.3. We do some basic research about dynamic displaying. we simulate movement process of continuous star images with orbit expressions using the date which is given about orbit radical.
