In this paper,the static and dynamic characteristics of the metal hose with transitional-wave have been studied, which based on the nonlinear finite element theory. The parametric Finite Element Analysis software about metal hose with transitional-wave's characteristics has been developed with APDL on the ANSYS platform.First of all, the finite element model of the metal hose becomes more reasonable and more accurate through transitional-wave. The bellow is described by the three-dimension 8-node element shell93, the metal net is described by the three-dimension 3-node element beam189. The relationship between the bellow and metal net is described by the theory of coupling and constraint equation. Considering the nonlinear characteristics such as material non-linearity, geometry non-linearity and large deflection, the parametric static and dynamic finite element models of the metal hose with transitional-wave have been set up.And then, in the static research, the deformation and the stress distribution of the metal hose have been studied under the condition of the various kinds of load such as axial pulling, axial compressing or transverse bending. Meanwhile, how the transitional-wave's each main parameter and the clearance of metal net and the bellows impact on metal hose's mechanical characteristics, the distortion mechanism of metal net have been discussed. The FEA analysis software is proved to be reliable through comparing the analysis result of finite element with the experimental data.At last, in the dynamic research, the inherent frequencies and the vibration shapes have been studied by the modal analysis. The metal hose with transitional-wave's vibration response to the axial harmonic excitation and the radial transient excitation are also analyzed. Life-span can be estimated glancing by the result of finite element of metal hole's the highest stress and the result of the experimental.The FEA analysis software is proved to reliable through comparing the analysis result of finite with the experimental result. The parametric Finite Element Analysis software about metal hose with transitional-wave's has been offered to the engineering designers, which is an effective tool.
