Excitation installation is an important controlling part of synchronous generator. And itaffects the operating characteristics of generator and power system directly. This paperdiscussesanewexcitationregulatorbasedonDSP(TMS320F2812).This paper focuses on the resarch and development of the new excitation control system.This paper introduced the important role of the excitation control system of synchronousgenerator firstly. Then the characteristic and structure of the usual DSP chip.Lastly the designof software and hardware on the excitation control system is illuminated in detail, presents theschematic diagram of hardware and the flowchart of the software. The hardware designcontainstheadjustingcircuitofacanddcanalogsignal,thedigitalshiftphasetriggerpulseandotherexternalcircuitsuchasthedesignofcommunicationandD/Acircuit.Thesoftwaredesigncontains the main program and the interrupt service subprogram.Then,the main program maycomplete the initialization of the system,the calculation of ac signal, PID adjusting, limited andprotected unit. The interrupt service subprogram mainly cotain three parts: synchronous signalISR, ADC's conversion ISR and shift phase trigger pulse ISR.This design of this test takesadvantage of the processing capabilities, plenty of characters peripherals of TMS320F2812,suchashighperformanceonchipandhighrealtimecontrolandsoontorealizeeveryfunction.
