With the rapid development of economic construction, slope problem, especially the rock slope problem becomes more severe in Mining, Transportation, water conservancy and hydropower projects. The stability situation of these engineering slopes determines the project construction whether it will be successful or not, and its safety. It also plays an important role in controlling the feasibility, safety, and economical efficiency of the whole project. With the background of cableway platform slope at left bank of Jinping Hydropower Station Class-I ,this paper mainly sums up different methods of slope stability analysis and their development, using comprehensive method which contains filed investigation, statistic analysis, geoanalysis, mechanical calculation, computer simulation together, systematically study on high rock engineering slopes from geological base, stress-strain analysis and slope monitoring three aspects.The main research contents are listed as follows:(1) The engineering geological and hydrogeological data of platform of cable cranes slope was collected, and its structural plane and rock mass quality was classified, the rock mass mechanics parameter was given out with the help of the survey report, the failure mode of the slope was judged with equatorial horizon projection method, the influence of structural plane position and hydrostatic pressure to the wedge body sliding was quantitatively analyzed with limited equilibrium method.(2)The excavation of the platform of cable cranes slope was simulated by finite element software ADINA(Automatic Dynamic Incremental Nonlinear Analysis), and its stress-strain distribution rule was analyzed, then its failure mechanism was derived, its whole stability during excavation was appraised, and its reinforcement measure was suggested.(3) Arrangement principle, disposition method, safety prediction, feedback model of safety monitoring and its importance in slope project was discussed. The contents of safety monitoring in this high rock slope was suggested, they are rock mass deformation monitoring, groundwater level and seepage flow monitoring, stress-strain state monitoring, relaxation scope monitoring.
