Grouted stone column is a new technique of pile , and has advantage in some special occasion . As a new ground treatment method, Grouted stone column is used to reinforce the roadbed of highway in east China coastal area. In recent years, theoretical research of Grouted stone column has been fallen behind engineering practice. Based on former research, this paper carries on analytical research on bearing character of Grouted stone column by means of model test on pile,field study and finite element analysis. The main work is listed as follow:(1) The pile model test is operated with Grouted stone column, precast concrete pile and driven cast-in-place pile, by comparison the bearing capacity of Grouted stone column is high. Then the bearing capacity characteristics and working properties of Grouted stone column are analyzed on the basis of the model test result and its technique speciality.(2) Base on the result of model test, the influence factors on shaft friction and tip resistance are studied and the calculation method of bearing capacity of Grouted stone column is proposed.(3) The construction techniques of Grouted stone column, method of quality control and method of detecting of Grouted stone column are studied and some useful conclusion are obtained through field test in Ning-bo belt highway.(4) The bearing capacity computational formula of Grouted stone column is used in actual projects, the comparison between the computational result and the static load test result validates the veracity of the computational formula.(5) Using finite analysis software, a Grouted stone column model is established.
