The coal mine monitoring system is currently used in the field of microprocessor protection and management of surface substation. The area substation underground is the key point in coal mine, which effect the production and safety directly. Although it is difficult to use automation monitoring system in substations underground, we need this urgently. The real-time substation monitor system, which is based on CAN bus, provides many functions, including: data acquisition, error monitor, data display, data output, voice warning, etc. The easily achieved system transplanting and expansion are the significant advantage of this system.Under the study of the substation data supervision at home and abroad, an advanced multi-functional security monitoring system for substation is developed, which takes advantage of the technology progress in the fields such as electronic, computer, sensor and controlling. The system not only has the general functions such as detecting, alarming and so on, but also displays parameters, working conditions, and the controlling functions.To perfect the function of the system, improve the advances, and guarantee the liability, CAN bus is adopted, which makes it possible for users to add units (CAN monitoring module) dynamically to meet different needs, without the least changes of the system's hardware. The monitoring system is made up of several front processors and one data station. The front processor is to sample signals of electrical devices though RS485, and then send them to the data station by CAN bus. Finished processing received data, the data station displays the results. Data station realized communication between human and computer by VC++, and use SQL Sever supervise data, send controlling signal.The design idea, the total scheme and the correlative basic knowledge of the hardware and software of the front processor and the data station are discussed, and some key sections are analyzed in detail.
