Comparing with conventional concrete, reactive powder concrete(RPC) processes excellent properties such as ultra-high strength, high toughness, high durability and so on. Studying on the design theories and method are the base for RPC to be used in actual engineerings. Researches on the shear capacity of prestressed RPC girders are presented in this thesis. The main research work is summarized as follows:(1) First, the existing research work and the use of RPC are overviewed also with the material properties.then the develop history, several theories and analytical methods about the shear capacity of reinforced members were reviewed. Then The main research contents is presented.(2) Based on the experiments of prestressed RPC girders, the mechanics Characteristic such as load-mid span deflection, failure patterns and stress condition were analyzed under different factors. Based on the results, the influnces of the following factors such as the prestressing force, the shear span ratio and the stirrup ratio for the shear capacity were studied.(3) Based on the plastic theory, considering the tensile strength and failure criterion of RPC200, the calculated formula for the shear strength of the RPC girders was derived. Comparing with the experimental results, the calculated values agree well with that of tests. The nonlinear finite element analysis procedure(ANSYS) was also used to analyze the specimens at length. Comparing with the test results, the analyzed results of nonlinear finite element correlates well with the test results. A more detailed factors such as shear span ratio, stirrup ratio, concrete strength and so on were anslyzed to find the rules.(4)Several calculation formula for the shear strength by the alien and native code were used to compare with the test results. The results indicate that all the code formulas were safe for the prestressed RPC girders. Based on the parametric anslysis of nonlinear finite element, the suggestion formula for the shear strength of the RPC girders was proposed. It correlates well with the test results of reactive powder concrete girders without stirrups by New South Wales University in Australia. It can be used as a reference for the shear capacity of prestressed RPC girders.
