A lot of factors, such as control algorithm, actuator and placement of actuator, have important influence on control result of the structural seismic vibration, therefore robust control algorithm suitable, good performance actuator and optimal placement of actuator have been become the research focus in the structural control field for a long time. In this thesis, fuzzy control method and optimal installation method using genetic algorithm(GA) are studied on the basis of research of the former scholars. Simulations of the shear-bearing type structure installed with magnetorheological fluid damper(MRFD) or with piezoelectric friction damper(PFD) are carried out by using the MATLAB program compiled by myself, the results of the simulation are analyzed and some valuable conclusions are achieved. The research contents can be divided into four parts:In the first part, a shear-bearing type structure with the active guy cable system is given as an example to discuss the influence on result of parameters in fuzzy control method on the control results besides. The fuzzy control rules with adjustable parameter are adopted, the result of fuzzy control method is compared with the result of LQR control algorithm, the above researches prove that the fuzzy control method is suitable for structural vibration control and the active guy cable system is efficient in reducing the inter-storey draft.In the second Part, research on MRFD system is carried out. The input of current electric for MRFD is regulated in real time by fuzzy controller, simulation of the shear-bearing type structure installed with MRFD are carried out. The results obtained by different control methods are compared, and indicates that MRFD using fuzzy control method has better control result on the inter-storey draft and smaller enlarge function on the structural acceleration. In a word, fuzzy control method is superior to the dispersed type control methods.In the third part, the semi-active system with PFD is studied, The input of current voltage for the PFD is regulated in real time by fuzzy controller, the simulation and analysis are carried out. The feasibility of this innovative method in the dynamical response is shown in this part.In the fourth part, an optimal installation method of MRFD using improved genetic algorithm(GA) is put forward in order to make the inter-storey draft minimum. The time-history program with MATLAB language is compiled and the simulation analysis of a 12-story structure is carried out. The result shows that optimal placement and figure of the MRFD are associated with characteristic of the seismic wave, and GA can be used effectively in the optimal placement design of MRFD in high-rise building.
