Many years frozen earth refers to the soil layer has been frozen for more than three years. The many years frozen earth in northeast of our country is mainly focused on Large and Small Xing An Mountain Range. It belongs to the leftovers of ancientry glacial deposit, and at the present time it is being deteriorate. But it is very difficult to construct a road on it for its'characteristics of low elevation, high latitude and unstableness. For asphalt pavement, the function of its'decalescence and sealing water makes the frozen earth formed proper pavement disease. For example: frost boil in spring and autumn, frost heave of pavement and hot melt and sinking of roadbed, etc. all of these diseases affect the pavement's benefits seriously. This paper is a research of the stability of roadbed in many years frozen earth area, and it is based on the synthetical investigations, experiments and analysis of some sections of Hei Bei highway, with the hope of providing credible basis to the design and construction of the roadbeds and pavements in many years frozen earth area with low elevation and high latitude. After the construction, the huge differences between the materials of roadbeds and pavements and the characteristics of the original earth, together with the destroy to the planting during construction change the characteristics of sun radialization's underlying, and then to change the absorptance, eflectivity and the evaporation's condition of heat radialization. These changes inevitably change the thermal process of groud floor and atmosphere, and then make the underground frozen earth losen its'own balance possibly, sequentially, thaw collapse appeared. Roadbeds with diffferent appearances and heights, pavement with different characteristics and original pavement with different conditions could form many new conditions of heat-transfer, so it is necessary to find the best coordinateness to keep the frozen soil layer being stable and will not degenerate after construction under new conditions of heat-transfer. In addition, frozen heave will also affect the stabilization of roadbeds. This paper find out the major measures for antifreezing and the theory of antifreezing design through the research of frozen heave mechanism and the characteristics of frozen heave's condition of open frost. The research is based on the indoor experiments of the simulated roadbed under the condition of being compacting.
