The thermal operation conditions of drive gearbox are very severe when the train runs at high speed. The research object of this thesis is to analyze the gearbox which is developed by CSR Qishuyan research institute and is used in 300 km/h high speed train.At first, the generation mechanism of the heat in high speed gearbox was investigated, the category and transfer modes of heat sources were analyzed. Based on the former research, the method suitable for calculating the thermal power loss of high speed gearbox was proposed. By using this method, the proportion of thermal power losses and the effect of gearbox parameters were evaluated quantificationally. On this base, the method to decrease the thermal balance temperature was advised, which will be great helpful for the design of high speed gearbox.Then, the mathematical and physical model for high speed gearbox thermal analysis was built, The CFD method was adopted to solve the model. The calculating results of the balance temperature field is validated by using test data from the test rig. On the validation base, temperature distribution pattern of the gearbox was analyzed and discussed.Finally, the model was used to analyze the influence of train running speeds and gear immersion depth on the balance temperature field. And the actual temperature field of the gear box in operation was predicted.This thesis provided theory and experimental foundations for predicting the thermal balance and the reliability of high-speed gearbox.
