With the emission regulations being increasingly stricter, the present technology of internal combustion engine faces more challenge than ever before. Applying homogenous charge compression ignition to engine is expected to be most promising to bring breakthrough among the technological routines to further improve internal combustion engine's emission. The engine simulation is a useful method. The combustion characteristics of the engine can be learned through simulation.A simulation model based on detailed chemistry kinetic mechanism for the HCCI combustion of DME in a diesel engine has been developed. In addition to that, the variable parameter study of the DME HCCI combustion has been conducted, which the air pressure, temperature, compression ratio, speed and other factors on DME HCCI has been studied. Simulation results show that the above factors on the DME HCCI will be affected, which increase the compression ratio, temperature, gas pressure, air fuel ratio will advance DME HCCI combustion ignition and the increased speed and the rate of EGR will delay the ignition.Based on the establishment of precise DME HCCI combustion simulation model, the genetic algorithms is applied to the DME HCCI combustion optimization. The DME HCCI combustion optimization model GA-HCT is established in the Visual Fortran development environment. Use the optimization model to optimize the DME HCCI combustion control parameters and find the method to expand the operational scope. Simulation results show that relative to traditional gasoline engine,diesel engine, the DME HCCI operational scope is narrow. Using lower temperature and EGR technology can expand the DME HCCI combustion load scope.The combustion process simulation is one of the important ways to study the HCCI combustion. In this paper, the genetic algorithms is introduced to the HCCI combustion control parameter optimization. The paper is advanced and a good reference to the further study.
