The Development And Research On Motorcycle CAD System

Go along with the rapid development of the motorcycle industry, China has been the one of the world's largest motorcycle and components manufacturing base . However , China's motorcycle industry is faced with unprecedented problems. Motorcycle enterprises spend a great deal of manpower and financial resources to lead in production lines and technology, but don't store a lot of valuable data, and don't make a good reuse of these parameter datum. So the capability of independent innovation and development are low. It's leading to the low grade of their products and the lack of market competitiveness. Developing motorcycle products with CAD is drawing lessons, digesting and absorbing the advanced technology from abroad, and also a effective way to increase our self-development and technology innovation capability.This paper, which is combining the motorcycle design and the computer-aided design, based on the knowledge of Database and motorcycle design theory, using VB. NET software development environment and SQL Server 2000 database development software and CAD intelligent technology, establishes a set of motorcycle CAD system. The entire system includes two subsystems which are the motorcycle information system and the motorcycle design system. The motorcycle information system bases on the relational database software in SQL Server 2000, has established Motorcycle performance parameter storehouse and Motorcycle design parameter storehouse, has built a complete management systems and set up a database management authority which supports altering, inquiring, adding and deleting of data. Motorcycle Design System established three systems which are motorcycle property parameter design, Motorcycle appearance parameters design and Motorcycle Part parameters design. Each subsystem in accordance with the contents of motorcycle design and requirements , sets up the corresponding design module. This paper taking the power design as an example, sets up the mathematical model of maximum speed, accelerating time and the max slope of climbing, and carries on the intelligent computation to this mathematical model in the way of HCI and Automatic Generation and the VB. NET software development environment. The design of the system also uses the process decision-making model of "Design -Evaluation - Redesign", and evaluates the initial parameters form a statistical point using similarity theory to achieve the optimization of designing parameters.The system is an important role to shorten Motorcycle product development cycles, improving product quality, reducing product cost.
