Screw pump is the one of complex mechanical equipments that has high technical level and is extensively applied in oilfield, chemical industry, foodstuff, medicine, circumstance etc. It's important to advance the multiphase pump system along with the exploitation to desert oilfield, and two screw pimp is key part in the multiphase system, margin oilfield and satellite oilfield. By this way of oil transferring, we may transfer untreated multiphase mixture which is exploited from oil well directly. By the method, we can predigest organizational transfer, cut down capital construction investments in oil field, and increase oil well outputs. Therefore, we know two-screw multiphase pump has wide appliance and market foreground as key equipment of the system. However, the formed turning method of machining two screw multiphase pump rotor has some shortcomings, such as low machining efficiency, bad machining precision and low surface quality. This seriously blocks the improvement for the performance of two screw multiphase pump, and can not be satisfied with the need of domestic market. On the base of research on all methods of machining screw in world, the external arc generatrix approach method of machining screw is presented firstly, which is a new method. This paper analyzes the essentiality of the method, and determines the required condition for space arc generatrix. Through the relationship between workpiece and cuter model, this paper creates math model for calculating and optimizing space arc, and sets up the calculating method for machining precision. Finally, the program for calculating and optimizing is developed with high-level language. The analysis and results of many calculating samples show that this method has good characteristics such as high machining precision and high efficiency. Cutting test verifies the feasibility and applicability of this method.
