The electromagnetic field numerical analysis method is renewing continuously with the computer developing and computation precision improved. The scientific computation method applying to electromagnetic field numerical analysis of electric appliance is searched by people. The method of electromagnetic field numerical analysis include image method, simulation charge method, finite difference method, integral method, boundary element method, finite element method, element free galerkin method etc. FEM is extensively applied to two dimension and three dimension electromagnetic field numerical analysis.Electric field analysis finite element model are divided two types: open boundary field and closed boundary field. The finite element models of open boundary and closed boundary electric field are built. Electric potential and electric field distribution of 12kV outdoor pillar vacuum circuit breaker and effect of configuration are gained through analysis and calculation as one of open boundary fields. The electric fields of 12kV outdoor tank vacuum circuit breaker and 40.5kV C-GIS switcher cabinet are gained respectively as two open boundary fields. The electric field analysis of 12kV outdoor pillar vacuum circuit breaker provides the theoretical reference for the engineering practice. Meshing method is key step to mesh three dimension models because quality and quantity of mesh affect the solution procedure. Free meshing can be applied to the models their structures are complex and shapes are irregular. Some methods can improve the quality of mesh for examples partial thinning mesh, remeshing, checking the quality of mesh and so on.Induction voltage possibility appears when 12kV outdoor vacuum circuit breaker is fixed. The electric fields are gained when 12kV outdoor pillar vacuum circuit breaker and 12kV outdoor tank vacuum circuit breaker occur electrostatic induction electrostatic induction. Because the conductors occurring electrostatic induction are the suspension conductors, the couplings conditions must be added to each conductor severally when the electric fields are analyzed. The reason of induction voltage appearing is explained.The field of the 40.5kV C-GIS switcher cabinet is closed boundary field. The small volume and the compact configuration of C-GIS affect its insulation performance. The electric field analysis of 40.SkV C-GIS switcher cabinet provides the theoretical reference. However, the structure is complex, the problem of computation precision, mesh precision, computer capacity and mesh space must be solved when three dimensional electric field is calculated. To solve the problem, some technical method can be applied for instance mesh tool, mesh technique etc.
