Submersible electric pump is widely used in fields of water-supply engineering and agriculture irrigation, the energy saving task is always paid more attention. The measures of improving its hydraulic efficiency are presented through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation; and the effect of efficiency improving for the optimization is forecasted. Meanwhile, the measures of saving energy for the motor and the whole equipment are put forward. The main work and results are outlined as following:(1) Some configuration parameters of impeller and volute are theoretically analyzed to obtain the effect on pump performance. Some measures of improving the hydraulic efficiency are presented, meanwhile, the effect of manufacture techniques on the performance of submersible electric pump is analyzed.(2) QDX15-8-0.55 submersible electric pump is selected as an example. The 3-D model of the impeller and the volute is built by using the software of Pro/Engineer, and numerical simulation is done by using FLUENT. Simulation results are focus on the distribution of hydraulic loss of the whole flow field, and the distribution of static pressure and velocity vector are analyzed. The whole flow field of submersible electric pump is studied. (3) By comparing the result of simulation prediction and test result, it shows that numerical prediction of the hydraulic performance is available. Eight schemes are designed with different impeller geometrical parameters. The effect of saving energy is gained from compares with the original hydraulic efficiency-flow rate curve. The efficiency of the optimization is 4.5ï¼…higher than the original submersible electric pump, and the high efficient area become wider.(4) Through the analysis of motor inner losses, the measures of improving the efficiency and enlarging the high efficiency scope of the motor are studied; and the design method to making the optimal position overlap that of pump is studied; and the usage of adjusting rotate speed through frequency conversion is analyzed also. Meanwhile, from the aspect of type selection and operation condition, the measures of saving energy of submersible electric pump systems are introduced.
