With the development of port, highway, railway and high architecture, thelateral pile has been applied broadly in engineering of bridge, port, dock, offshore platform. It becomes the controlling factors of design in someimportant engineering.Being have high bending capacity, the vertical pile isused to stead of the sloping pile to bear lateral load.At present, the study on lateral bearing capacity of pile fells behindresearching on the vertical, so it is necessary to research into the behavior oflateral load pile, which is a complicated process of pile-soil interaction.Traditional calculating methods, which are suitable for homogeneousfoundations, can't describe distinctly the mechanism of pile-soil interaction. The weighted average mean was used for the non-homogeneous foundations, but it is easy to conceal the sudden transform phenomena and causescalculating accuracy. To research the behavior and mechanism of lateral load pile, this paper, based on the field test of lateral prestressed high-strength concrete pipe pile(PHC pipe pile), analyses the behavior of pipe pile-soil interaction, the lateraldisplacement, corner, shearing, bending moment of PHC pipe pile underlateral loading and plastic deformation of soil, and proposes another rationalbearing capacity of PHC pipe pile. It provides reliable data for analyzinginternal forces and deformation of pile, designing and studying of lateral loadpile in similar area.Simulated results, which come from simulating the field test by finiteelement software ADNIA, is rational by analyzing with m method resulted, field measured results. This paper also analyses anti-force of pile from soil, deformation, stress, strain of pile and limit bearing capacity of pile, anddiscusses the influence of some parameter such as diameter of pipe piles, wallthickness, soil modulus.
