In view of the advantages of frictionless, no wear, without lubricating, no pollution, low consuming and long life, magnetic suspension rotors suits high or super high speed, vacuum condition and some of the special conditions. It's very important in the fields of military affairs, space station, nuclear industry, energy source, chemical plant, traffic and so on. Physical prototype of magnetic suspension rotor has been studied intensively in recent years. However, the research on virtual prototype of magnetic suspension rotor is nearly blank in china.This thesis concentrates on the structural module of the virtual prototyping system for the magnetic suspension rotors. The main research contents are as follows:At first, functional structure and framework of Magnetic Suspension Rotor's virtual prototype system is introduced. The main research contents of the thesis in the framework system are confirmed.Secondly, the basic design theory of the magnetic suspension rotors structure is introduced. According to the design method of magnetic suspension rotors by Wuhan University of Technology, the calculating formula and process of the structural parameters of the magnetic suspension rotor is provided.Tthe parametric structural theory is studied based on the analysis of the structural parameter of magnetic suspension rotors.Then the appropriate parametric structural design method is chosen on basis of the characteristics of magnetic suspension rotors. The objectives of research and design, data flow diagram etc. is created for the structural design system.Then, the quick method for magnetic suspension rotor's structure modeling is discussed in detail.The parts of magnetic suspension rotor is classified and the template base for magnetic suspension rotors is established. The parametric design method for standard parts and non standard parts of magnetic suspension rotors is designed and the parameter database for standard parts is also built ultimately.Meanwhile, according to the overall design of the quick modeling system, the second development methods of SolidWorks by Visual C++6.0 is discussed in detail. The appropriate method is chosen to develop the system based on the study of the different second development methods.Taking account of all the above research, the structural design system of virtual prototype of magnetic suspension rotors is established, and the quick parametric modeling system for magnetic suspension rotors and visualization are also realized. A method is concluded to solve the problem of structural design on Complex Product Virtual Prototype.
