As the embodiment of a country's comprehensive national strength and technical level, Intelligent Building is the important symbol of the age of information. The domestic and foreign markets extremely favor it because of its obvious characteristic and superiority. Intelligent Building is the node of international information superhighway and intellectualized city. Its function and benefit decide the strong character in the modern information society. The Intelligent Building not only needs to connect rails with international information superhighway, moreover also further promote the development of it. The development of the Intelligent Building will lead one batch of related technical and industrial's development, such as information, electronic, automated, computer, electric power technology and so on. The Intelligent Building is on the rise in the domestic and foreign development and its prospect is broad. The various countries compete to research and develop the technology of Intelligent Building.At present, the general Intelligent Building supervisory system uses the solution based on the simulation transmission or half-digitization digital hard disk video recorder. These solutions have many bottlenecks. Firstly, they need massive wiring construction, such as video frequency wire, pilot wire, alarm wire, power wire and so on. Secondly, the system based on simulation has congenital insufficiency in the aspect of long-distance transmission. Finally, they also have many limitations in the system expansion and promotion.In order to solve the problems above, this paper proposes using the wireless sensor network (WSN) to construct the system. WSN may regard as being composed by the data gain network, the data distribution network and the control administrative center. Its main constituent is the sensor node which integrates the sensors, the data processing unit and the communication module. Various sensor nodes will compose a distribution network and transmit the data which will be optimized first to the information processing center by radio. The network can be constructed fast and deployed conveniently. It specially suits the circumstance which is wiring difficulty or hard to arrive. WSN has widespread application prospect, for example, in the environmental monitoring, the military reconnaissance, the medical monitoring, the intelligent community or building and storehouse management and so on. This paper studies the main contents as follows:1. Domestic and foreign present situations and development tendency of the Intelligent Building and WSN. Elaborate this paper's viewpoint above the foundation.2. Basic characteristic and total framework of safeguard system: composition and classification of security detector, infrared detector; analysis and processing of fire phenomenon.3. Hardware design of the sensor node of safeguard system: summary of control chip MSP430F149 and RF chip nRF905; principle of thermal infrared sensor, microwave remote sensor, temperature sensor, photoelectric inductance smoke sensor and CO gas sensor.4. Software design of safeguard system: design of each sub-module and processing of sensor information.Based on all of the summary and conclusions of my research work, some suggestions and prospects for further researching are put forward in the end.
