Novel 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thione derivative DPTT and DHTT were synthesized and confirmed by elemental analyses, IR and 1HNMR.The thermal properties of these two compound investigated by thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA);and the tribological properties as additive in rapeseed oil was examined by four-ball tester;Worn surface morphology and element chemical composition of rubbing film was analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X–ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The result indicate that these two compound possess good thermal stability, these novel compound as additive in the rapeseed oil were able to obviously decrease the wear rate and friction coefficient;the additives reacted with metal surface to form a film containing FeS, FeS2 and FeSO4,and nitrogen metal complex,nitrogen oxides and organic nitrogen,all these compound contributed to improve tribological propert- ies of the rapeseed oil.The synergistic effect of DPTT and benzotriazole(BTA) as corossion inhibitor for copper were investigated.The result show that the optimal inhibition performance was attained when DPTT was used alone at a concentration of 3.0mg/L.There existed good synergistic inhibition effect when DPTT and BTA were used together,the optim- al composition for the complex inhibitor was recommended as 1.0mg/L DPTT and 1.0mg/L BTA.The corrosion inhibition action of DPTT for copper in 0.5 mol/L hydrolyzed pol- ymaleic anhydride and HEDP solution was investigated by weight-loss tests, using dimerapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole(DMTD)carry through the comparison study, result show that the inhibition effect of the DPTT increased with increasing concentration of the equate concentration, the inhibition effect of DPTT is better than DMTD.
