Recent years, people pay more attention to the problems such as atmospheric environment pollution and petroleum sources crisis. For protecting environment and saving energy sources, batteries are used widely in every country. Charge equalization is a major issue in the service of batteries since they are frequently connected-in series to obtain higher output voltage levels for most applications. With series connection, imbalance may happen to the operating batteries during either charging or discharging periods. The imbalance among batteries concerns the operating efficiency and the battery lifetime. The main object of this dissertation is to solve the problem of charge inequality working principle of hardware circuit, PWM controlled circuit, charged modes, working software were introduced in detail. This charger can manage the whole course of charging. The whole charging bases on the curve of charging. It not only protects the battery but also achieves optimal effect. Its intelligent charge mode has effectively broken the bottle neck of conventional chargers which may cause damage to a battery in charging. And its charging electric current can be set up from 0 to 50A .The intelligent charger can charge the battery rapidly and protect the battery efficiently. A four-step intelligent charger based on LPC933 MCU is developed.
