Because the limitation of existing insulation theory and dispersion of insulation material, weather the insulates of high voltage electricity equipments can satisfy the technique and standards request, which need carry on strictly examination by high voltage insulation experiment. For the reason of erosion of various disadvantageous natural environment, the long-term effecting of the work voltage and the inside or outside over voltage short time impacting will make the insulation gradual aging and change in character, it's necessary periodically or irregularly to carry on preventive experiment in order to judge insulation condition, and predict its surplus life. So high voltage insulation experiment is an importance research area of high voltage technique, and all nations pay a great attention to high voltage insulation experiment, and put in huge human, material and financial resources to carry on the research of experiment methods,control policy,protecting program and measurement means.According to the nation standard and actual operation norm request, it's necessary periodically to carry preventive experiment on 10kV pillar high voltage apparatus in order to certify the operation safely and reliably. However, because of test product operating on the pillar, the traditional method of the experiment is to hoist it on the ground and then transport to Laboratory. Which limits the experiment widespread carrying on, and insulation accident occur constantly. It's necessary to research and development portable power frequency insulation experiment system, which can carry frequency insulation experiment on high voltage electricity equipments of 10kV at the operating field.It is against this background that this paper carries on portable power frequency insulation experiment system research and development. We adopt two power supply method in the research development, the system can take the power from the existing frequency source, but at most filed which not existing frequency source, it also can take the power from an accumulator which fit with the system or from the carrier vehicle, and control the transition of the two function. The DC 24V can be inverted into alternating currents which can be controlled by the technique of Pulse Width Modulation. After inverted alternating currents transformed into 0-220V by regulating devices of transformer, then produce 0-50kV experiment voltage by testing transformer to evaluate testing product's insulation the ability. To secure the experiment systems satisfy the high voltage working condition and adverse conditions of outdoor operation, the system adopt effective anti-interference technique. Design with the PIC16F873 chip as control,measure and protect center, and programmable logic device (CPLD) EPM7128S chip as center control. Programming environment of EPM7128S chip is MAX+PlusII (Multiple array matrix and programmable logic user system).Result of simulation and experiment indicated that the system's measurement is accuracy and protection is perfect, and can be circulated on the field.
