The industry of maintenance, reinforcement and reconstruction for the existing building is one of the most popular industries in the 21st century. Following the requirement of the maintenance and reconstruction for the existing building and the development of modern technology, reliability appraisement and strengthening and reconstruction technology for the existing building structure are gradually coming into being and fast developing as a new scientific subject. This thesis is to have a systematic analysis and academic discussion over the reliability appraisement for the existing building and the reconstruction technology of reinforcement based on the relevant development over the last decade and several practical projects.1. It briefly recounts the development of the industry of reconstruction both abroad and domestically ; the introduction of the development and the present situation of the theory of structure reliability as well as the introduction of the reliability appraisement of existing building and the means of maintenance and reinforcement. It specially puts forward the developing direction for the estimate of existing building and the maintenance and reinforcement work.2. It briefly introduces the knowledge of the basic theory of structure reliability and the First Order Reliability Method for calculating the reliability of structure member. It discusses the basic characteristics of the analysis over the existing building's reliability and the load, resistance of the structure's reliability. The calculation method reflecting on the reliability level when the resistance varies with time is researched in the thesis too.3. It discusses the difference between the reliability appraisement of existing building and the simulated construction design as well as the mechanics of structure's reliability and the rules of correction of the structure member. the basic rules of present reliability appraisement and the applicability are analyzed.4. It researches the fundamental theory of the fuzzy evaluation and analytic hierarchy process and bring the fuzzy evaluation into the field of analysis of the structure's reliability to set up the multi-level system of evaluating the structure's reliability. Through the analytic hierarchy process, it confirms the weight of structure members from various levels in the structural system and build up the evaluation mode for the structure's safety by means of the weight coefficient.5. It gives a general analysis of the basic ailes of the reinforcement design of existing building. Taking the concrete structure reinforcement for example, it researches the issue of cooperative work between new materials and old materials in the structure for reinforcement. The theory of structure member strengthening with reinforced concrete, structure member strengthening with externally bonded steel frame, fibre reinforced polymer, structure member reinforced with steel frame and the means of computer work are researched.The reliability appraisement of existing building and the technology of reinforcement is a research filed of great integration, having a touch of various subjects with a wide range of knowledge. Although it's a subject of a great difficulty, such a subject has a wide marketing prosperity and a way of industrialization. This thesis is just a fundamental research and discussion. With the gradual development of the reinforcement market, the extending process of industry application and the deep research on the theory, this field will definitely have a further development.
