The Beam String Structure (BSS) has been widely used in wide span spatial structure and researched in the civil engineering field with its good function and beautiful sculpt. So, It is very important to do researches on both Mechanics and optimization design of the BSS.The current researches on BSS are mainly on static analysis phase and the analysis are rather complicated as the analysis of BSS is related to nonlinear finite element, steel structure and string structure. As the seismic load plays an important part in the controlling of wide span spatial structure, this paper makes a research and an optimization design on the analysis of BSS under seismic load. The main content and results include: having the static and seismic analysis completed through ANSYS after setting up a BSS model; and finally the relationship between the total steel volume of a single Beam String Structure and ones such as the pipe element diameter, pipe element the thickness, string area, the base and the highness of the up-crooked beam, the rise highness and the sag of the Beam String Structure, and the best optimization set of design are given base on the this research.
