With the developing of domestic traffic, the status of traffic and traffic capability of vehicle has improved greatly, the load and quantity of commercial vehicle is demanded much more either. The performance of vehicle has been improving, including average velocity and the power of engine, while no perfect breakthrough on the vehicle brake performance all over the world. For the limitation of brake system dimension and cooling system capability, the accumulation of heat produced by brake system results in safety question of drivers, occupants, pedestrian and vehicle.The vehicle must be equipped with auxiliary braking system besides the service brake to ensure the well brake performance. As a kind of auxiliary brake system, hydraulic retarder can reduce the load of the service brake, make vehicle slowdown smoothly, enhance the reliability of the brake system, and reduce the traffic cost greatly. The hydraulic retarder is very suitable for continuous braking since it has many advantages such as: durable performance, high braking power and good quality of control, the development prospect of it is promising. Research and application of hydraulic retarder has been deeply investigated abroad, while theory research and samples development just begin in china.The purpose of this study is to collect relevant information in a wide range of conditions, mainly to a foreign model for the study of hydraulic retarder Using CAD/CAE/CAM integration technology research hydraulic retarder part of the heat exchanger, MATLAB and FLUENT software and the use of hydraulic retarder fitted with a heat exchanger for performance analysis, Evaluation . To provide a theoretical reference to the development of hydraulic retarder, and design for enterprises,provide specific guidance on the production method of hydraulic retarder.In this paper, combining work and school cooperation is the high-tech projects,including the following aspects:(1) Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of various brake, and hydraulic retarder working principle and characteristics , And a detailed analysis,A detailed survey of domestic and hydraulic retarder, application status on the basis of laws, Summary of the Application of the plate-fin heat exchangers, radiators heat transfer model of the status quo and development trends Research topics defined objectives and direction.(2) In this paper, plate-fin heat exchanger and the flow theory and the theory of two-phase flow as the basis to establish a mathematical model of heat exchanger , MATLAB and SIMULINK, a simulation software. Step by beating when another fluid is a fluid situation response.(3) The application of modern methods of Hydraulic Brake Parts CAD 3D design. Application of plate-fin heat exchanger FLUENT CFD simulation software.(4) Hydraulic retarder participate in the project along with the bench trial, the heat exchanger and heat transfer characteristics of a separate test, on the plate-fin oil radiator for a more systematic study of the test . Origin and data-processing software for fitting the experimental data.(5) Develop pilot process control strategies, as well as ideas for the improvement of the experiment after a more in-depth studies.
