The analysis method for inelastic structures is an important role in Performance-Based Seismic Design.In order to replace the complicated time-history analysis method and estimate the structure's seismic performance,many scholars have done a lot of researches on Pushover analysis method.On the base of existing researches ,this paper does some further research on Pushover analysis method : the first part introduced the pushover analysis method in detail ,in allusion to Pushover analysis method is not fit for the instance when the impact of higher model cannot be ignored ,so the author puts forward the model Pushover analysis method and uses the method-SRSS to consider the higher model's impact , gives an example of project that proved the reliability of this method .In order to investigate Pushover analysis method whether can be used in base - isolation Structure , the second part introduce the base - isolation and its simplify in details. On the base of the second part, The third part of this paper mainly introduced three improved capacity spectrum methods: Equivalent SDOF method,Chopra's improved method A and B. This paper adopts the ideology of improved capacity spectrum method to simplify the structure into a 2 DOFS system and gives the brief steps and also gives an example of project that explains the method is accurate and effective. The conclusion of the paper will provide some reference for Performance-Based Seismic Design.
