Graphite material has good electronic conductivity, high crystallinity, and has a high theoretical capacity. Its charge-discharge voltage is low and flat. It is one of the most important materials of lithium ion battery studied at present. But, there are still some problems about graphite, for example, it has a bad compatibility with electrolyte, working badly at a high current density, and cycle number is short and so on . According to these problems of graphite material as lithium ion battery, in this experiment, using petrolic bitumen to coat graphite in order to improve the surface performance of graphite material. More, we also doped some nonmetallic elements such as boron, silicon, phosphorus and son on into the bitumen. Through the test methodes of BET, SEM, and electrochemical performance test, it was found that the electrochemical performance of the graphite material had been improved had a obvious improvement. Then we discussed the reasons for these transformations primarily.
