With the fast development of concrete technology, high strength-high performance concrete structures will have widely application prospect in the future. Steel reinforced high strength-high performance concrete is the combination of high strength and high performance concrete with embedded steel, which have high bearing capacity, good seismic behaviors, excellent fire resistance, and fine corrosion prevention and so on. In this paper, the stiffness and crack of steel reinforced high strength-high performance concrete beams are studied based on the experiments of 13 steel reinforced high strength-high performance concrete beams.The experiments of 13 steel reinforced high strength-high performance concrete beams which are subjected to monotonic concentrated or uniform load were carried out. The test phenomena from the occurrence of initial crack to the failure of the test specimen were recorded continuously and analysed. Load values such as crack-appearing load, critical inclined crack load and failure load, the strain of embedded steel, steel bar and concrete, as well as mid-deflection of the specimen were obtained. By analyzing them as well as the crack propagation and shape, the rigidity calculation formulas which are fit to steel reinforced high strength-high performance concrete beams were proposed on the basis of present rigidity theory of steel reinforced concrete (SRC) memebers. Finally, the calculating formulas on crack width for SRC beams at home and abroad with the formulas given are compared. According to regression analysis of the data obtained from the tests, and referring to the achivements at home and abroad, the calculation formulas on the maximum crack width for steel reinforced high strength-high performance concrete beams under short time load are suggested. The calculation results agree with experimental ones well.
