| In this thesis, the effect of nitric acid on the performance of silicone rubber (SIR) material during corona aging was investigated. Firstly, the concentration of nitric acid in corona aging of SIR was estimated by theoretic calculation and experiments; Secondly, five kinds of concentrations nitric acid were used to silicone rubber immersing experiments with different hours; and finally the performance of immersed samples was evaluated using scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), hydrophobicity measurement and thermally stimulated current (TSC) test. According to the experimental results, it could be found that the physical and chemical constitution of SIR could be changed by nitric acid, many construction defects and chemical defects could be found, and the hydrophobicity could be lost temporality; the trap level and trapped charges could also be increased. Moreover, it seems that the aging state of immersed SIR samples has relationship with the trap parameters. |
