Reactive power optimization is an effective measure to improve the voltage profile and reduce the network losses, and also one of the most important control methods to ensure the operation of power system securely and economically, so the research on the reactive power optimization algorithm is very important. This paper has thoroughly studied reactive power optimization algorithm, according to the case of algorithm researching, the immune particle swarm optimization (IPSO) algorithm is advised which combines the particle swarm optimization algorithm and the immune algorithm together, which has solved the problems of the prematurity in the final stage of PSO algorithm.The immune particle swarm optimization algorithm (IPSO) is applied to the reactive power optimization of the IEEE 14-bus system,the IEEE 30-bus system and the Bameng power grid, the searching results proves that the improved algorithm based on mix aptitude algorithm in this paper is effective, and possesses excellent value in theory and practice.
