Landing gear is one of the most essential components of the aircraft. It supports the aircraft during parking and endures the loads during ground maneuvers. Most of the vertical and horizontal kinetic energy are absorbed and dissipated by landing gear. It plays an extreme important role in preventing the airframe from vibration and excessive impact forces, improving passenger comfortable characteristics and increasing aircraft flight safety. The shock absorber is the heart of the landing gear system, Its function is absorbs the impact energy when the aircraft landing.Therefor, the study of novel structual shock absorber is very important.The Magnetorheological (MR) fluid absorber is a kind of novel intelligent material device. It has a lot of advantages compare to commom liquid absorber: low power requirements, wide dynamic ranges and fast reaction. It is a typical controllable fluid absorber. It is the most effectively intelligence setting to carry out active or the half control of the engineering vibration.It is the key that how to make more magnetic line pass through the damp routeway. As to the MRF absorber, the vertical magnetic line is more effect to the Magneto-rheological effect. According to this theory, a absorber with vertical magnetic field and multi-ring grooves is designed. That is the magnetic density is vertical to the MRF flowing direction and the throttle is a small orifice. The advantage is that the magnetic density can be fully used, the leading and seal of the loop is easy and the damper can be used as the common hydraulic damper while there is no magnetic field.Based on the theory of equivalent magnetic circuit, design the magnetic circuit of multi-ring grooves structure MR fluid absorber designed by ourselves have been made in this paper. As well as pay attention to the magnetic circuit overall design, we adjust the weak links such as structure, size and material, so as to enhance the effect of magnetic circuit and receive better experimental effect.After designing and machining, starting experiment to this absorber and receiving better experimental effect.
