The Comparative Study Of The Night Image Of City

Urban lighting is playing an increasingly important role in the construction of city. This thesis is based on visual perception, which is taking Shanghai, Hongkong and Sydney as research objects and the structure of night image as research programs to make a study on compare. By usage of correlative fundamental theories, analysis of urban lighting design principles and surveys of local fields, the thesis summarizes a method of evaluation system of the night image of city, which is a realistic meaning to the development of domestic urban lightingThe first chapter is the part of putting forward of research issue. It declares the objectives and significance of this thesis. Research scope is given as the night image of city which is the concept extension of urban lighting. With the study of the basic theories about night image, research approaches are bring forward here.In the second chapter, the influencing factors of night image of three cities are analyzed by comparison. With the choice of topography, culture, economy and foundation of urban lighting as entry points, the relationship between factors and night image, and the non-material causation of difference among the cities are anatomized.In the third chapter, the three scales including total scale, medium scale and close scale are studied on the compare of Shanghai, Hongkong and Sydney. Component elements are analyzed among diverse scales and cities with case studies. Emphases are laid on this chapter.Considering the aspect of night image of city, the development of Chinese urban lighting is conceived in the last chapter.
