The greenhouse effect is the most important problem in the global environmental problems which must be resolved, and the technology of CO2 separation is the key. Chemical- looping combustion offers a solution where no energy is lost. The system consists of two reactors, one air reactor and one fuel reactor, and an oxygen carrier that transports the oxygen from the combustion air to the fuel, the air and the fuel are never in contact, and the product gas from the fuel reactor consists of carbon dioxide and water vapor. The water vapor can be condensed, and remaining carbon dioxide compressed for storage. In this paper, several technical approaches are studied. Furthermore, the design and calculation related are processed. A novel cold model of Chemical- looping combustion system for CO2 separation is built in Perspex, which is designed with two interconnected fluidized beds similar to a circulating fluidized bed , with an extra spouting fluidized bed added on the return side. Several kinds of solid particle are used in the experiments for showing the fluid dynamics of the system.By the study above, new approach and new system are founded and a firm basis is established for the next work.
