Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)is a new type of material for strengthening and improving reinforced concrete. CFRP has widely been used to strengthen the RC members . The Experimental Studies on the flexural RC beams strengthened with CFRP sheet are accustomed to use simple-span beams now. It is few that the number of the Experimental Studies on continuous RC beams .So,it is need to study on the continuous RC beams strengthened with CFRP sheet.In this thesis,six continuous RC beams strengthened with CFRP sheet and two RC beams have been tested. The research emphasize on the flexural load-bearing capacity, cracks,redistribution of internal forces, ductility,deformation and so on , of the reinforced beams. According to the experimental results, the conclusion that the flexural members can be strengthened effectively with CFRP is drawn. The reinforced RC beams'stiffness and the flexural load-bearing capacity is increasing with the increasing of the layer of CFRP. Cracks can be restricted by CFRP,the width of cracks and the crack spacing is thinner with more layers of CFRP. The redistribution of internal forces of the strengthened beams is different from RC beams,but,according as the changing of stiffness.The hinge is not accustomed plastic hinge,the bending resistance of section is increasing with the increasingof load.Based on the experimental results and theoretical analysis of the beams,such as Mu-ξ,Mu- n,σcf- n relation of a practical method to calculate the ultimate moment bearing capacities and deflection of the continuous RC beams strengthened with CFRP sheets is proposed. According to different method to calculate the stiffness, the article contrast the result of test with calculation. The calculation results show agreement with experimental data with reasonable reliability.Finally, the design method and the constitution measures of the flexural continuous RC beams strengthened with CFRP sheets is proposed. A simulation analysis of the experimental specimen is performed with ANSYS.
