Based On S-58 Changjiang ENC Validation Check System

As the ligament of hint land and the outside world, the Changjiang River plays an important role in the integrated transportation net in its drainage area, which is the top-drawer freshwater channel of China. And at the mean time, Changjiang River is the busiest channel with the largest capacity in the world. It has been written in the eleventh "five years plan" of economic and society development of China that to construct Changjiang River golden channel and the high grade sea-route net in Changjiang delta, which will advance the river-sea through transport. It's the strategetic opportunity to construct the "golden channel". So it's necessary to quicken the automation integration and regulation of navigation in Changjiang River in order to meet the demands of new era.There are many problems needed to perfect in Changjiang electronic nautical charts (ENC), which is the base of automation and informationization of navigation in Changjiang. The validation check standard and the validation check system related to the correctness of Changjiang ENC and the publish department's authority are the basic work to insure safe navigation.The author analyses the IHO S-57, and summarizes the technical characteristics of ENC. Based on the above, the author emphasizes the importance to regulate the Changjiang ENCs. Then the author refers to the international ENC data validation check and Standard Electronic Chart Display and Information System for Inland Navigation, according to the reality of Changjiang River, and constitutes the validation check standard of Changjiang ENC. Based on that, the paper includes the design of Changjiang ENC validation check system and realization of it. In the end, the paper introduces the functions and operations of the system and summarizes the deficiencies.
