With the fast development of economy in China, energy supply situation is becoming more and more serious. An electric power shortage came out from summer in 2002 and even limiting power consumption by means of switching out appeared. In the mean time, the fast development of the tertiary industry makes air conditioning loads increasing constantly. The increase of the system peak load and the largest peak load and light load difference influence the stabilization and security of power system. Kinds of DSM methods have been put into practice, for example, the TOU electricity price, double system electricity price, limiting air conditioner outlet temperature, and the like. Theoretical analysis and experience summary are urgent to come out in order to improve the level in power demand side management and exploit load shifting potentialities better in summerIn this paper, the summer typical day curves are investigated and the air conditioning loads of different kinds of typical users are calculated respectively. Moreover, the potential load shifting effect when enlarging the ratio of TOU electricity price is analysed, while the typical users'electricity price elasticity is calculated. An analysis about the effect of the daily highest temperature is also made.The regression analysis models of the tapical users between the peak load and the daily temperature are built and the energy dissipation models of the comfort air conditioning system are also established. Then the typical day peak load shifting can be calculated by these two models. The paper also gives an analysis of the double system electricity price. Corresponding DSM...
